New Delhi: BJP national president J P Nadda said on Friday that Gujarat is a laboratory for the party for the matters pertaining to governance and organisation. He added that the party carried out successful “experiments” in the state last year by replacing the Vijay Rupani cabinet. 


"Gujarat is a laboratory (for the BJP) for governance and party organisation. We will implement this model across the country. As party chief, it is also my responsibility to take this model ahead," Nadda said.


Nadda was speaking at a press conference in Gujarat where he said that Successful "experiments" to develop the party and make it a "medium of change" were conducted in Gujarat under Narendra Modi's leadership when he was a BJP office-bearer and later chief minister of the state. 


He added that the sudden change of guard effected by the party last year in the state when the Rupani cabinet resigned and a new government was formed under the leadership of Bhupendra Patel was also an “experiment: carried out by the party. 


Nadda addressed the press conference at ‘Shri Kamalam’ BJP State Office in Gandhi Nagar, Gujarat. 


While addressing the crowd, he said, “Gujarat's model of development gives us direction in a way for the whole country. This model was implemented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi while being the Chief Minister of Gujarat, today we are taking it forward in the whole country.”


Highlighting Gujarat’s success, Nadda said, “Today Gujarat has become a manufacturing hub with value addition. Gujarat is progressing developmentally. The manufacturing sector contributes 15.9% annually. 42 ports have been built, 65 have progressed as a notified special economic zone.”
