Heavy rainfall has caused waterlogging in several parts of Gujarat. Navsari in South Gujarat has been inundated and there are chances of more rain. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rain at isolated places over Bharuch, Surat, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli districts of the Gujarat region. The Southwest Monsoon hit the state on Sunday and by Tuesday it had covered entire Gujarat.
The Met department in its latest bulletin on Thursday has also predicted isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall in Gujarat in the next 2 days.
Heavy rain is also forecasted for Maharashtra and Goa for the next few days. According to IMD bulletin, the southwest monsoon will likely to cover the whole country in the next two days,
"Conditions are favourable for further advance of Southwest monsoon into remaining parts of the country (i.e. remaining parts of Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab) in the next 2 days," the IMD bulletin said.
Meanwhile, Delhi witnessed light to heavy rainfall with several places reporting waterlogged roads. In its tweet earlier today, the IMD said 'A moderate/intense cloud patch is passing across the #DelhiNCR, which very likely to cause: Light to moderate rain with few spell of intense rain over Delhi-NCR & adjoining areas during next 2 hours.'
Rain helped to bring down the temperature in the capital to a minimum of 27.1 degrees Celsius.
While in Himachal Pradesh, heavy rain has caused landslides and flash floods affecting vehicular movement. The state faces an estimated Rs. 219.29 crore loss due to rain-related issues. Nine people have also been reported dead due to rain-related incidents and the state has also issued a safety advisory for tourists.
