Prime Minister Narendra Modi, today, laid the foundation stone of Hostel Phase-1 (Hostel for Boys) built by Saurashtra Patel Seva Samaj in Surat through video conferencing. PM Modi said that the slogan of 'Sab Ka Sath, Sab Ka Vikas' was given by Gujarat.
PM Modi said, "Following Lord Ram means following humanity and following knowledge. That is why from the soil of Gujarat, Bapu had imagined a society based on the ideals of Ram Rajya. I am happy that the people of Gujarat are strongly carrying forward those values. An initiative taken today in the field of education by Saurashtra Patel Seva Samaj is also a part of this link."
The hostel building has a residential facility for about 1500 students. It also has an auditorium and a library for students. Addressing the program, PM Modi said that today a virtuous work is being started by Saurashtra Patel Seva Samaj on Vijayadashami. He also wished the entire nation a very Happy Vijayadashami.
PM Modi said, "Today the Bhoomi Pujan of Phase-1 Hostel has been done and by 2024 the work of both the phases will be completed. How many youth, sons and daughters will get a new direction from your efforts, they will get an opportunity to make their dreams come true."
Hostel construction will start next year
The construction of the second phase hostel for about 500 girl students will start next year. It is a registered trust established in 1983, whose main objective is the educational and social transformation of the weaker sections of the society. It helps students prepare for various competitive exams and also provides them with a platform for entrepreneurship and skill development. The Chief Minister of Gujarat will also be present during the program.
