Ahmedabad: Congress MLA Imran Khedawala has tested positive for coronavirus on Tuesday. The test results have come about 6 hours after he met Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and several other leaders.

The MLA who represents Jamalpur-Khadia constituency in Ahmedabad, had also met Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel and Minister of State for Home Pradeep Singh Jadeja among others. Later, he had also interacted with the media.

Reportedly, Khedawala had been called along with other Congress MLAs to meet the CM and other high ranking members of the government to discuss the matter of spike in Covid-19 cases in certain parts of Ahemadabad.

The latest development has raised concerns over the health of those who attended the meeting. Questions also arise as to how a person who was being tested for Covid-19 and had not received his test results, was invited and then allowed to meet the CM.

Gujarat has now registered a total of 650 cases and 28 deaths. Ahmedabad has the most positive cases in the state.
