New Delhi: The Directorate of Estates (DoE) under the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry, on Wednesday sent a team to evict Lok Sabha MP Chirag Paswan from a bungalow allotted to his late father Ram Vilas Paswan.

According to sources close to news agency PTI, the team of officials under the Directorate of Estates went to the bungalow in Janpath in the heart of the city, to execute the eviction order issued to Chirag Paswan last year.

Notably, this is the third eviction in the last three days by the Director of Estates that saw BJPLok Sabha MP Ram Shankar Katheria removed from 7 Moti Lal Nehru and BJP minister P C Sarangi from 10 Pandit Pant Marg.

“It is a regular procedure to send a team following eviction notices. Chirag Paswan is already living in an MP flat allotted to him and 12 Janpath was to be vacated last year as it has already been allotted. This is the third eviction in three days, the occupants of the bungalows will move to the MP flats,” The Indian Express quoted one of the officials as saying.

The bungalow had been allotted to Chirag’s late father and former Union minister Ram Vilas Paswan and last year in August, it was allotted to Union Railways and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, a BJP Rajya Sabha MP from Odisha.

It is to be noted that the house has been the official address of the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), that has now split into two following differences between Chirag Paswan and his uncle Pashupati Kumar Paras, after the demise of former Union minister Ram Vilas Paswan.

The house was used regularly for holding the party's organisational meetings and other related events.

The 12 Janpath bungalow is earmarked for the Union ministers and the occupants of the government accommodation have been asked to vacate it, the officials said.
