New Delhi: In a huge jolt to Congress, Luizinho Faleiro, former Goa Chief Minister resigned from the party is likely to join the Trinamool Congress (TMC), as confirmed by ABP News sources. While submitting his resignation, the veteran leader on Monday said that his tenure in Congress was nothing other than suffering and Goa needs a "streetfighter" Mamata Banerjee to ends its torment.



"I, Luizinho Faleiro, hereby tender my resignation of my seat in the house w.e.f. 27th Sep 2021. I thank the people of Navelim for placing their trust in me & look forward to their continued support in all future endeavours," Faleiro tweeted on Monday.



 

"Mamata Banerjee is a symbol of women empowerment. she is fighting divisive forces and poses a direct challenge to BJP. She is a street-fighter and Goa needs her," he added.



 

Faleiro is currently the sitting MLA of Navelim constituency, a party bastion. The leader has been representing the constituency for several years. After interacting with his constituency, Faleiro tweeted, "I interacted with my constituents from Navelim; they are my family, and it was important to me to seek their blessings for a new beginning. I might be old, but my blood is young. I am determined to change things. Let's end this suffering of Goans and bring a new dawn in Goa."
