Nitish Kumar should know that the Prime Minister post for 2024 is not vacant, Union Minister Giriraj Singh said on Thursday, while reacting to the meeting between Nitish and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav and Congress leaders Mallikarkun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi.

“Everyone wants to become the Prime Minister. Nitish Kumar is strong in that. That’s why he is pleasing Malikarjun Kharge and got an appointment with Rahul Gandhi. Nitish Kumar should know that the Prime Minister post for 2024 is not vacant. He should know that his political decline is imminent,” Singh told reporters.

His dreams will be dreams, Singh said and further added that his political ruin is yet to come.

These comments come after Nitish Kumar met different leaders from various parties in a bid to unite the opposition against BJP.

The Opposition leaders met at Congress president Malikarjun Kharge’s 10, Rajaji Marg residence on Wednesday, to deliberate on forging a united front to take on the BJP.

Addressing a joint press conference after the meeting Kharge said that the leaders had a historic meeting and discussed many issues. He said the parties reached a consensus on fighting elections as one.

"Today we had a historic meeting here and discussed many issues. We all have decided to unite all (opposition) parties and fight the upcoming elections unitedly: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. We have decided that all the parties have to unite. And we have to fight elections together in future," Kharge said.

Bihar chief minister said he will try to bring as many Opposition parties together as possible to take on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Nitish also met his Delhi counterpart Arvind Kejriwal later on Wednesday.

Addressing the media persons after the meeting, CM Kejriwal said, “This is the most corrupt government in the country after independence and it is essential for all opposition parties to unite and change the government in power.” Lauding the Bihar chief minister's efforts, he said, "I am completely with him."
