A 35-year-old man, son of a retired Delhi Police officer, died in Ghaziabad after his head was smashed with a brick following a heated argument over parking outside a roadside eatery. A grim video of the incident, recorded by a passer-by on Tuesday night, has gone viral, prompting Ghaziabad police to lodge a case.





The video shows a man hitting the victim and smashing his head with a brick. The victim is seen lying on the ground motionless after being thrashed. The 35-year-old was rushed to the hospital, but he died on the way, NDTV reported.


In a tweet, Ghaziabad Police said five teams were looking for the accused.






"A clash broke out between two groups in front of Hobs Kitchen at Loni Road on October 25. People from one group hit a person from other group with a brick; he died on way to hospital. Five teams working on case; accused will be sent to jail after probe," Additional SP City GK Singh said.


In the past few weeks, areas like Noida and Ghaziabad have witnessed such incidents with neighbours and ordinary citizens getting violent over petty issues. Several were arrested and police cases were lodged over the same. In a fresh incident, a case was lodged after a people were assaulted at a posh Ghaziabad society. A politician, Shrikant Tyagi, was also arrested and was released only two days back for misbehaving with a woman in Noida.


Cases were also lodged about the high-handedness of the residents of these housing societies with security guards. Recently, videos of women misbehaving with security guards with viral prompting action by the police. Netizens have pointed out the growing instances of such incidents calling for stricter laws to curtail the same.
