NEW DELHI: Dalit leader and Union Minister of State for Social Justice Ramdas Athawale on Saturday lashed out at the self-styled cow vigilantes and said that protection of cows should not be at the expense of human lives.
"In Hinduism cow is seen as mother If they are killed then we should go against it. But Along with protecting of cows, we must protect human lives," Athawale said.
Athawale, who alo heads the Republican Party of India (RPI-A), said that he stands for cow protection but against killing of human beings.
"Killing humans in the name of saving cows is wrong," he said.
