Earlier in the day, the Delhi metro services were curtailed in order to stop the conflict from spreading in other areas of the national capital. The DMRC had annouced to shutthe entry and exit gates at several metro stations, mainly in north, east and central Delhi. Entry/exit gates of Dilshad Garden, Jhilmil and Mansarovar Park on the Red line were shut. The DMRC also closed all the stations on grey line. Entry and exit gates for several stations on Delhi Metro's green line stations too have been closed.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation took to Twitter to inform the public about the temporary closure of metro station gates. Entry gates of Rohini Sector 18, Vidhan Sabha, Model Town, Inderlok, Samaypur Badli, Azadpur, Kashmere Gate and Uttam Nagar East are closed, said DMRC.

Clashes were seen in several parts of Delhi as the police used tear gas on groups of farmers and resorted to lathi-charge as protestors broke past barricades with tractors at different border points and did not take the pre-decided routes for their march in the national capital.

In the view of Republic Day celebration 2021, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced a new set of guidelines for travelling today. All the metro parking lots will also remain closed till 2 pm on January 26, Delhi Metro said in the release.

Movement of vehicles too has been badly hit after several key roads were blocked or traffic was diverted. Entry to Delhi from neighbouring Gurgaon has been blocked at both points; from MG Road and from the Delhi-Jaipur highway.
