A major fire broke out during Ganesh visarjan in Maharashtra's Nagpur due to burning of fire crackers. At least seven women were injured in the incident that took place in Thursday night in Umred town in the district.

A member of a mandal was bursting firecrackers as thousands of devotees had gathered for the immersion, an eyewitness recalled. This led to a stampede-like situation. The women were immediately taken to a hospital where the condition of four remained critical, an official said.
