New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Wednesday wished the nation on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi - the birth of the Hindu god Ganesha. Taking to his twitter handle, the PM wrote in Sanskrit, "Because intelligence is the destruction of ignorance for the seeker of liberation, because wealth is satisfying to the devotee. From whom obstacles are destroyed and from whom work is accomplished, we always bow and worship that Ganesha. Happy Ganesh Chaturthi. Ganpati Bappa Morya!"


He added, "Best wishes on Ganesh Chaturthi. May the blessings of Bhagwan Shri Ganesh always remain upon us."






President Droupadi Murmu's tweet in Hindi read, "Hearty greetings to all the countrymen on Ganesh Chaturthi. Vighnaharta and Mangalmurti Lord Ganesha are symbols of knowledge, accomplishment and good fortune. I wish that with the blessings of Shri Ganesh, there should be communication of happiness, peace and prosperity in everyone's life."






The Union Home Minister Amit Shah also took to Twitter to greeted the natio. "Happy Ganesh Chaturthi to all the countrymen. Ganpati Bappa Morya!", he tweeted in Hindi along with a video collage of him praying to Lord Ganesha.

Maharashtra Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde also shared greetings on Twitter.


"Happy Ganeshotsav to all devotees...", his tweet in Marathi read.


He also shared a video of him performing aarti at his residence along with family members.
