Here is a list of things which have become either cheaper or costlier from April 1.
- Filing of IT return gets easier. From April 1 department will issue new form.
- Less interest on PPF and other lesser saving schemes. Reduction of 0.1 percent in the rate of interest.
- From April 1 only up to 2 lakh cash transaction can be done. If found guilty, an amount equal to the transaction will be charged as the penalty.
- "Vikalp Seva" in trains to start from April 1. If you fail to get confirm ticket, you will be given the same in some other train running on the same route. The facility is only available for the online customers.
- Liquor shops to be closed on national/state highways.
- SBI customers have to maintain a minimum balance in their accounts from April 1. In metropolitan areas, the minimum balance should be Rs 5,000 and in rural areas, Rs 1,000.
- Third party insurance on vehicles gets costlier, premier gets nearly 50 percent dearer.
- Aadhaar card mandatory for taking benefit of "Fasal Bima Yojana".
- Censor board gets online from April 1.
- From April 1, passengers flying out of seven biggest airports - Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Cochin - will no longer have to get their cabin bag tags stamped "security checked".
- Car, motorcycle, health insurance to get costlier from April 1.
- Online Railway Tickets, POS (Point of Sale) machines card and fingerprint readers to become cheaper.
