Mumbai: The Maha Vikas Aghadi has been facing a political crisis in Maharashtra after former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh levelled serious allegations on the state Home Minister Anil Deshmukh accusing him of corruption. While speculations were being made that Anil Deshmukh might get sacked from his position but NCP Supremo Sharad Pawar cleared the air saying that the top cop's letter has accused Anil Deshmukh but there are no proofs.
A letter was allegedly written by Mumbai's former police commissioner Param Bir Singh to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray in the aftermath of the Antilia bomb scare incident, has resulted in series of meetings by Sharad Pawar and Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
In the letter, Singh alleged that Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh had indulged in "malpractices" and asked assistant police inspector Sachin Waze to collect ₹100 crores every month from bars and restaurants.
Waze has been arrested by NIA (National Investigation Agency) because of his alleged links with the Antilia security breach incident and the following death of Thane-based businessman Mansukh Hiran, the man whose SUV was parked outside Ambani's residence loaded with explosive gelatin sticks.
