New Delhi: After making an official statement on resignation from the position of Member of Parliament, former BJP MP Navjot Singh Sidhu also resigns from the Bhartiya Janta Party, as per the statement made by his spouse Navjot Kaur Sidhu.
Former cricketer’s wife on Tuesday confirmed his resignation and said “Sidhu’s resignation from Rajya Sabha has one meaning that he has resigned from BJP as well”.
“He has clear vision. Sidhu wants to serve Punjab, and he wasn't ready for any other option besides Punjab”, told Navjot Kaur Sidhu while speaking to a news agency here.
There have been major speculations about Sidhu’s future plans of joining Aam Admi Party and being the party’s face for the forthcoming Punjab elections.
After his resignation, Sidhu said "he had to choose between right and wrong. He said the interests of Punjab were most important to him".
He further said that because he became MP to serve people, he "couldn’t be sitting on fence".
