Former Rajya Sabha MP Prabhat Jha and senior Madhya Pradesh BJP leader passed away on Friday. He was ill for a long time. He was undergoing treatment at Medanta Hospital. He was originally from Bihar. BJP leader Prabhat Jha, who was a two-time Rajya Sabha MP, breathed his last at Medanta Hospital in Delhi. He held many important positions in the BJP. He was also in charge of the party in Delhi, Punjab, and Chandigarh.


Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said in an X post that he received the sad news of the demise of the former state president of the BJP. "May Baba Mahakal offer peace and give strength to the bereaved family to bear this blow. His important role in the development of Madhya Pradesh will always inspire us. His demise is an irreparable loss for the political world. Om Shanti," Yadav said.






Prabhat Jha was a highly educated and successful politician. Jha, who was a journalist and a social worker before foraying into politics, was also the editor of the BJP mouthpiece, 'Kamal Sandesh'. He was the president of Madhya Pradesh BJP from 2010 to 2012. Apart from this, he was also the national vice-president of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Prabhat Jha was a two-time Rajya Sabha MP from Madhya Pradesh. 


Prabhat Jha Last Rites


The 67-year-old Prabhat Jha was admitted to Delhi a month ago for intensive treatment.  Prabhat Jha was flown to Delhi in an air ambulance on June 29 after his health deteriorated. MP CM Mohan Yadav and Union minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, among other senior politicians, met him.


The BJP said that the last rites of Prabhat Jha will be performed in his native village in Bihar. He will be taken to Sitamarhi in Bihar by a special plane on Friday evening.
