After the inauguration, in his public address Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech was focused on the people of backward community apart from attacking Congress.
Prime Minister slammed Congress for ‘spreading rumours’ regarding government’s stand on dalits and reservation. He said “We want the extremely backward section of the OBC community to avail full benefits of reservation. For this we have also constituted a commission assigned with the task of creation of sub-category in the OBC section. We have planned to give this commission constitutional status.”
He said that we have developed five places related to Baba Saheb Ambedkar on the lines of ‘panch teerth’.
He enumerated the instances when as per him the Congress had failed the people.
He lashed out at Congress and said that caught in the momentum of opposing BJP, Congress has now started opposing the country also. “If any institution, whether internal or international, presents good figure of development, these people start questioning the credibility of those institutions as well”, he said.
He said: “The truth is, Congress & its allies always mock anything & everything that is being done for all the backward classes, tribals. They always act as obstacles in development.”
Drawing comparison he said “UPA provided broadband to 49 Panchayats in four years, but we have provided broadband accessibility in 1 lakh Panchayats.”
In an indirect comment at Congress chief Rahul Gandhi he said that some people do not have respect for the law. “They do not respect constitutional institutions.. the Election Commission and the Supreme Court”.
While concluding his speech he said : “For them (Congress) the family is the country but for me my country is my family.”
