New Delhi: A massive fire broke out at a dumping ground at Turbhe in Maharashtra’s Navi Mumbai on Friday evening, as reported by the news agency ANI. No casualties have been reported. According to a police official, the fire broke out at 7.30 PM. The fire is under control now, the official said.
"The fire broke out at 7.30 pm. 7 fire tenders are at the spot. The fire is under control now. No casualties were reported. Reason of fire not yet known," Anil Chavan, a police official of Turbhe PS told ANI.
In another incident, earlier this week on Tuesday, a massive fire broke out at a residential apartment in Dhanbad which killed 14 people including 10 women, three men a,nd one child while injuring several 12.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the loss of lives in the devastating fire at a Dhanbad apartment and announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh for the next-of-kin of the dead. PM Modi also announced that an amount of Rs 50,000 each has also been sanctioned for the injured in the incident.
As many as 14 people died and 12 others were injured after a fire broke out in the Dhanbad apartment. SSP Dhanbad Sanjiv Kumar said several people had gathered in the apartment for a marriage function.
