In a shocking incident, a father-son duo riding a motorcycle were killed after being struck by a vehicle from behind on Saturday, in UP’s Amethi. While speaking to PTI, Kamrauli Station Officer Abhinesh Kumar said that they received information about two people who were found injured on the Lucknow-Varanasi highway.


Soon the police reached the spot and rushed the two individuals to a nearby hospital. The doctors declared them dead on arrival, Kumar said.


The victims were identified as Rambaran, 58, and his son Ranjit Yadav, 32. The two were on their way to purchase medicine from a hospital when they were hit by a speeding vehicle while crossing the road, he added.


According to PTI, a case has been registered against the unidentified driver and the bodies have been sent for a post-mortem.

On Friday, three family members, including a teenager were killed in an accident after their motorcycle was allegedly hit by an unidentified vehicle. The three were returning from a wedding function in Greater Noida, PTI reported citing the police.


According to officials, the accident took place around 2:30 AM at the Pari Chowk, under Beta 2 police station area. After the police reached the spot, the victims were taken for treatment to the nearest hospital.


The fourth person, a girl, who was riding the same motorcycle has been hospitalised with injuries and is undergoing treatment. The victims were identified as, Surendra Singh, 28, his sister Shaili, 26, their 14-year-old brother Anshu and his friend Simmi were returning to their homes in the Kulesara area.


The police said they have lodged an FIR under Indian Penal Code sections 279 (rash or negligent driving), 338 (causing grievous hurt by negligence) and 304A (causing death by negligence) against an unknown accused.


According to PTI, the police stated that they are making efforts to identify the erring vehicle along with its driver involved in the episode.
