Tractor Rally HIGHLIGHTS: 86 Police Personnel Injured In Clashes; Punjab & Haryana On High Alert
Farmers Protest Tractor Rally, 26 January 2021 HIGHLIGHTS: Protesters entered Delhi's Red Fort and waved their flags from the ramparts.Following farmer-police clash at ITO, a group of farmers reached Red Fort. The apprehensions regarding farmers' tractor rally appeared to come true as the march led by the farmers turned rambunctious even though it started well ahead of the time prescribed for it by the police. The march started even as the annual parade at Rajpath was underway. At several places cops faced off with the protesters, as they tried to knock down the barricading. Police used tear gas and lathi charge as well at several places. Stay tuned for all the updates that follow.

Farmers protesting at Delhi borders over the Centre's farm laws are all geared up to carry out a tractor march on Republic Day. The farmers' union reached an agreement with the Delhi Police on Sunday to carry out the tractor march peacefully.
Farmers at Delhi's three protest sites -- Singhu, Tikri, and Ghazipur border points will also take out a massive tractor rally against the farm laws. The routes will cover over 100 kilometres of distance in the national capital.
Celebrations at Rajpath will be different this year due to the Covid 19 pandemic. No chief guest will be seen at Rajpath. It will be the first ever time when Rafale fighter jets will be taking part in the Republic Day flypast. A total of 38 IAF aircraft, include Rafale, and four planes of the Indian Army will participate in the flypast on Tuesday.

Delhi Police Gives Update On Situation
"Most of the incidents were reported from Mukarba Chowk, Gazipur, A-Point ITO, Seemapuri, Nangloi T-Point, Tikri Border & Red Fort. 86 policemen have reported injured & several public and private properties have been damaged in this act of vandalism by the rioting mob. Keeping a close watch on the situation and also registering cases of violation of lawful directions, rioting, damage to public property and assault on a public servant with deadly weapons regarding several incidents reported from various locations,": Delhi Police said.
4 FIRs Registered In East Delhi
Four cases have been registered in connection with the vandalism in East Delhi during the farmers' tractor rally today. Eight buses and 17 private vehicles were vandalized: Delhi Police (Eastern Range).
83 Police Personnel Injured In Clashes
83 Police personnel were injured after being attacked by agitating farmers in Delhi today, Delhi Police revealed. Meanwhile, a Protesting farmer died in the national capital's ITO area. As stated by the police, his tractor overturned and his body was crushed under it. Details about the deceased man are being gathered by the officials. The mortal remains were shrouded in tricolour.
Internet Services Suspended In Parts Of Haryana
After violent protests in Delhi, internet services have been suspended in Sonipat, Jhajjar and Palwal in Haryana until 5 pm of January 27: Officials.
High Alert In Punjab & Haryana
CM Amarinder Singh ordered a high alert in Punjab and directed DGP to ensure law and order does not deteriorate.
Authorities in Haryana are also on high alert after violence during the tractor parade in Delhi. "All district police chiefs directed to be extremely vigilant": DGP Manoj Yadava said.
