New Delhi: The Samyukta Kisan Morcha, which held an important meeting on Saturday to discuss and deliberate upon the future course of action after the repeal of three farm laws, has formed a five-member committee to hold talks with the government on behalf of the farmers’ union.
The members of the committee include Balbir Rajewal, Gurnam Singh Chadhuni, Shiv Kumar Kakka, Yudhavir Singh and Ashok Dhawale.

Bharatiya Kisan Union spokesperson Rakesh Tikait said the issues regarding minimum support price (MSP), compensation to the families of farmers who died during the agitation, withdrawal of cases against the farmers and sacking of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni were discussed in the meeting.
Farmer leader Darshan Pal Singh on his part said the leaders of all farmers’ organizations are of the opinion that they will not go back unless cases against the farmers are withdrawn.
“Today a clear cut signal has been sent out to the government that we are not going to take back the agitation unless all cases against the farmers are taken back,” he said.
The Samyukt Kisan Morcha, an umbrella of famers’ unions, after the meeting said that the three laws were anti-farmer and anti-people due to which the Centre had to repeal them, adding this is a huge victory for the country’s farmers.
“We have proposed some things from day one, including a guarantee for MSP. The second demand is regarding the electricity bill, which we want to cancel, as it will increase burden on the farmers,” the Samyukt Kisan Morcha said.

“Thousands of cases have been filed against the farmers. The cases that have been registered in the BJP ruled states should be withdrawn by the government,” the Samyukt Kisan Morcha added.
The next meeting of the Samyukt Kisan Morcha will be held on December 7.
