New Delhi: Days after the national capital witnessed violence during the farmers’ Tractor Rally’ in which several policemen were injured, Delhi Police has now provided special steel sticks to the men in uniform for dealing with the rioters in the near future. However, there is no official word yet from the Delhi Police in this regard.
This comes as Alipur SHO Pradeep Kumar was attacked with a sword by a protester and suffered injuries on his forearm during the clashes last week at the Singhu border.
Earlier on January 26, thousands of protesting farmers had clashed with the police personnel during the rally.
Hundreds of farmers deviated from the route decided by the Delhi Police for their tractor rally and entered the majestic Red Fort.

Delhi Police has so far registered 38 FIRs in connection with the incident besides issuing notices to over 13 farmer leaders and activists spearheading the agitation.
The farmers have so far held 11 rounds of talks with the ruling dispensation and demanding Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led regime to repeal the laws passed by the Parliament in September last year.
One of the major demands of the farmers is that the Minimum Support Price (MSP) be made a legal provision to assure a better price to them.
