Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated and laid the groundwork for several development projects worth Rs 34,400 crore in Chhattisgarh under the 'Viksit Bharat, Viksit Chhattisgarh' initiative, news agency ANI reported. The projects cater to various vital sectors including roads, railways, coal, power, and solar energy, among others. Addressing the gathering, PM Modi praised the progress made in Chhattisgarh, stating that the ambition of establishing a Viksit Chhattisgarh will be realised through the empowerment of farmers, youth, and Nari Shakti.

"Today, we are moving ahead with the resolve of 'Viksit Chhattisgarh'! The BJP has made it, and only BJP will improvise it!," PM Modi stated.

"Chhattisgarh has hardworking farmers, talented youth and a wealth of nature. Whatever is needed to develop, Chhattisgarh had it earlier and is there even today. But those who ruled the country for a long time after independence did not have a big vision," he said.

Slamming previous Congress government, PM Modi stated: "Lakhs of farmers of Chhattisgarh have been given the bonus that was pending for two years. The previous Congress Government was stopping us from building houses for the poor. They were creating obstacles. We are rapidly taking the 'Har Ghar Jal' scheme forward. Orders to inquire about the malpractice in the PSC exams have also been given. I congratulate the women of Chhattisgarh for the 'Mahtari Vandana' scheme."

“When corruption comes to an end, development starts and creates many employment opportunities," he further stated.

He also praised the people of the state for the BJP's win in the recently held state assembly election. "You have blessed us a lot in the assembly elections. It is the result of your blessings that we are among you with the resolution of 'Developed Chhattisgarh'. BJP has made it, only the BJP will improve it. This is being further confirmed by today's event," he said.

During the event, PM Modi dedicated NTPC's Lara Super Thermal Power Project, Stage I (2x800 MW) to the country and laid the groundwork for NTPC's Lara Super Thermal Power Project, Stage II (2x800 MW) in Raigarh.

Speaking about the thermal power station, PM Modi stated: "Today, NTPC 1600 MW super thermal power station Stage-1 has been dedicated to the nation. The foundation stone of stage -2 has also been laid... We want to make Chhattisgarh a centre of Solar energy... The Government of India has a goal to make the power bills zero. We want to make every home a 'Surya Ghar'... With this aim, the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojna has been started... Our aim is to make our 'Annadata', 'Urjadata'."
