Farmer Protest: The impact of the ongoing farmers' movement against the three agricultural laws is clearly visible in Punjab's politics. Leaders are facing opposition from farmers ahead of next year's assembly elections. The Shiromani Akali Dal has changed its election strategy in view of the farmers' opposition. The Akali Dal will now adopt a new method to attract voters.

This has forced the Akali Dal leaders to adopt a new way of campaigning for the upcoming Assembly elections.

Akali Dal President and MP Sukhbir Singh Badal are holding public meetings only in urban areas. Harsimrat Kaur Badal, MP from Bathinda and former Union Minister, has adopted the same approach and is engaged in helping urban voters. According to the English newspaper The Tribune, former Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal, however, is camping in Badal village.

Sukhbir Singh Badal is also trying to influence Hindu voters into his fold. Sukhbir Singh Badal can be seen paying obeisance at Hindu shrines. Sukhbir Badal recently visited a temple in Himachal. Not only that, Sukhbir Badal will soon visit Salasar Dham in Rajasthan.

Leaders avoid going to rural areas.

Like the Shiromani Akali Dal, BJP leaders Anil Joshi and NK Sharma are also avoiding going to rural areas. These two leaders have devised a strategy to woo urban voters in their assembly constituencies.

Sukhbir Singh Badal has visited big cities like Amritsar, Ludhiana in the last few days. Harsimrat Kaur also visited Moga, Faridkot, Ludhiana, and Amritsar.
