Noida (UP): It appears that Noida district, which comes in the National Capital Region (NCR) of Delhi, is new paradise for vehicle thieves.

Between July 2014 and June 2015, 1510 two-wheelers got stolen from Noida district, revealed an RTI. In other words, four two-wheelers per day!

The stats are shocking and show the sorry state of law and order in the state.

The RTI also revealed that out of these 1510 stolen two-wheelers, police recovered only 337.

Commenting on this BJP MLA from Noida Vimla Batham said-"It is really shocking that from my city so much vehicles are getting stolen. It is a high-tech city. Our Akhileshji (CM Akhilesh Yadav) says that everything is good here but if law and order are not good, then rest is useless."

"People come here for investment and if at this magnitude of thefts will take place without any control then how Noida will convert into a high-tech city? It will collapse," she added.

Interesting, the largest number of two-wheelers theft took from sector 62 of Noida. What is more shocking is, the largest number of four-wheelers theft was also taken from the same sector of Noida, during the same period, revealed another RTI.

"It's a very big sector with many IT companies. There is a problem of parking and people park their vehicles outside", said RaviKant Parasar, SHO Sec-58 under whom sector 62 all falls, justifying thefts.

"Saying sector 62 is very big is silly. What kind of excuse is this? If sector is big, deploy more force. This is no excuse", MLA commented on the version of the SHO.

"It is really shocking that most of the cars and bikes got stolen from sector 62", she said.

The Police are not performing its duty well, said Vimla Batham and added she will meet SSP Noida regarding it.

In order to check the increasing number of vehicle theft we have established liaison with guards, replied police in RTI.

However, when we cross-checked it, the story was different.

We went to sector 62 and asked the guards deployed in big companies that are they contacted by any policemen? All replied in negative.

ABP Live tried to contact SSP Noida Kiran S and IG Zone Sujeet Pandey but both were unavailable for comment.

It is pertinent to mention here that Gautam Budh Nagar SSP Preetinder Singh was shifted to Agra and Jhansi SSP Kiran S posted in his place in September last year. Incidents of crime in Noida is said to be behind Singh’s transfer.
