New Delhi: On Monday, a soldier, in a shared video complained of poor treatment and lack of food supplies, clarifying that even though conditions for soldiers were tough they were provided with regular rations while asserting that the jawan in particular had a troubled past.

ABP News in an exclusive phono spoke with the BSF soldier, Tej Bahadur Yadav.

Question 1:

After your video, an investigation into the truth has been ordered. Has an official from the Home Ministry or from the BSF reached your location?

Tej Bahadur- I have been shifted from my previous location to Battalion Headquarters. I have spoken to the Commander. He asked me whether I had done this (posted a video on Facebook). I said 'absolutely, I have'.

I have now been promised an inquiry into the situation. Let's see if one takes place or not. I will let you know once an investigation happens.

I would have accepted that it is a matter of indiscipline had I done something wrong or had I done something wrong related to the security of the nation but I haven't done anything of such sort. I only used my basic human rights to put forth the truth.

Question 2:

The BSF says that instead of using the right medium to complain about the deplorable conditions of soldiers, you took to social media and uploaded a video which was wrong.

Tej BahadurI had informed my current commander about the state of things in my current location about 3-4 times. Now is it wrong to put forth the truth if no action is being taken even after repeated complaints? I have only showed the people of the country the truth and I don't think that is wrong.

Question 3:

How is the situation there?

Tej BahadurI wasn't left with an option other than uploading the video.

Question 4:

Would you tell us the current state of things there? Is the quality of food that bad?

Tej BahadurYes, absolutely. I have shown you things from zero ground. I have only shown you the truth. I have only shown you the food that I have actually been given to eat.

Question 5:

Your career records have also started to come in the light. You have been severely punished 4 times and you are also accused of raising a pistol at your commander.

Tej BahadurYes, I have been accused but if all of this is true, then you should also ask those accusing me that why did they then award me? I have been awarded 16 times and I have also won a gold medal for the best BSF all-rounder.

I have recovered all the punishments that I was given. I accept that I made mistakes. Humans make mistakes and that I did undergo punishments for them but then why was I given awards?

Question 6:

What do you want now?

Tej BahadurI want a thorough investigation, an inquiry into the truth.

Video:

In the video gone viral, BSF jawan Tej Badur Yadav of the 29 battalion Seema Suraksha Bal is seen exposing the rot in the system by revealing the deeply ingrained corruption in the higher order, saying that the troops there are not even getting basic three square meals.

Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has sought a report from the Home Secretary and directed him to take appropriate action on the same.

Singh took to his official Twitter handle to express his concern.

"I have seen a video regarding a BSF jawan's plight. I have asked the HS to immediately seek a report from the BSF & take appropriate action," he said.
