NEW DELHI: The Election Commission (EC) on Saturday announced the much-anticpated dates for the Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Mizoram Assembly polls. Chhattisgarh will go to the polls in two phases that will be held on November 12 and 20, while Madhya Pradesh and Mizoram Assembly elections will be conducted on November 28. Rajasthan and Telangana will go to polls on December 7.  The Counting of votes will be held across all the five states on December 11.

  • At a BJP rally in Ajmer this morning, Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje announced free electricity for farmers. Her declaration comes few hours before the model code of conduct got into effect. PM Narendra Modi was also a part of the rally. Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala took a swipe at the Election Commission for postponing the announcement by three hours to favour the BJP.

  • By-polls in Shimoga, Bellary and Mandya in Karnataka to be held on 3rd November.

  • Counting of votes to be done on 11 December for Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Mizoram, Rajasthan and Telangana state assembly elections.

  • Rajasthan, Telangana to go on voting on 7th December.

  • Madhya Pradesh and Mizoram assembly elections to be held on 28th November.
