West Bengal Election Results 2021: As per early trends, Trinamool Congress Supremo Mamata Banerjee is trailing behind her former protege turned BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari.
Speaking about this development Bharatiya Janata Party's spokesperson Sambit Patra told ABP News: "Mamata Banerjee trailing in Nandigram is an indicator that there will be ripples in opposition. BJP will be in a much more comfortable position in 2024".
The battle for Nandigram was an intense one as a visible communal undertone took over with polarising speeches and statements. Mamata Banerjee's injury after filing nomination papers also grabbed the headlines. While TMC maintained that she was manhandled, ECI probe ruled the claim out.
