Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Wednesday said that the state government has renamed the Versova–Bandra Sea Link as Veer Savarkar Setu and Mumbai Trans Harbour Link as Atal Bihari Vajpayee Smruti Nhava Sheva Atal Setu. He said that a big decision has also been taken to increase the limit of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Jan Arogya Yojana from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 5 lakh and it will be given to all people of the state.


"We've renamed Versova–Bandra Sea Link as Veer Savarkar Setu and Mumbai Trans Harbour Link renamed as Atal Bihari Vajpayee Smruti Nhava Sheva Atal Setu. We've also taken a big decision to increase the limit of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Jan Arogya Yojana from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 5 lakh and it will be given to all people of the state," Shinde said, as quoted by the news agency ANI.


While addressing the reporters, Shinde said that many industries are coming to Maharashtra as there is a lot of potential in the state. "In today's meeting, we have approved investment proposals worth Rs 40,000 crore. This will provide employment to 1,20,000 people. Many industries are coming to Maharashtra as there is a lot of potential in our state. Now Maharashtra has again become number 1 in FDI," CM Shinde said, as quoted by ANI.






During his speech at a function organised at the start of the ‘Chaturmas’ (period of penance) by the Acharya, who is from the Jain Terapanth sect, Shinde said that Maharashtra is the land of saints and it will become more prosperous with the presence of monks like Acharya Shree Mahashraman, as reported by the news agency PTI. He added, the government is working day and night for the state’s development.


Shinde said the spiritual leader is working on drug de-addiction in a mission mode. Shinde said his government has been working day and night for the development of Maharashtra as he sought the spiritual leader’s blessings to make the state happy and more prosperous.


“Like your drugs-free efforts, the state government has taken up a Drugs-Free Mumbai Mission,” the CM said, as quoted by PTI.
