Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his greetings on the occasion of Easter on Sunday saying that he hoped that the message of renewal and optimism will reverberate all over. Easter marks the culmination of the Holy Week which starts with Palm Sunday recalling the final phase of Jesus Christ's life from his arrest to his crucifixion, followed by his resurrection. 


"On Easter, we hope that the message of renewal and optimism reverberates all over. May this day inspire us all to come together, fostering unity and peace. Wishing everyone a joyful Easter," Modi said in a social media post on X. 


President Droupadi Murmu said that the "pious occasion" promotes the spirit of love, hope and universal fraternity.










"Easter greetings to all, especially to our Christian brothers and sisters! This pious occasion of celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus Christ , promotes the spirit of love, hope and universal fraternity," she said. 


"May the teachings of Jesus Christ lead us onto the path of peace and harmony," she added. 


Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar wished that the occasion brings peace and harmony. 


Taking to social media platform X, Dhankhar wrote: "Heartiest greetings on Easter! #Easter commemorating the resurrection of Lord Jesus Christ serves as a poignant reminder of the profound influence of love, compassion and forgiveness. May this auspicious occasion bring peace and harmony in our lives while inspiring us to serve humanity."


Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge also extended his "warmest greetings" on the occasion. "The eternal significance of Jesus Christ's resurrection is that truth triumphs over evil and compassion overcomes hatred," he said.
