New Delhi: On Sunday morning around 09:35 am, an earthquake of magnitude 4.5 occurred in East Garo Hills of Meghalaya,  a state in northeast India.


However, no loss of property and life reported.

Recenlty, tremors jolted Delhi-NCR and parts of northern India. The tremors were felt continuously for thirty seconds.

As per National Seismological Bureau, the epicentre of the earthquake was  Rudraprayag of Uttarakhand. The quake reportedly shook Uttarakhand, Punjab, Delhi and the national capital region.

As per initial reports, the magnitude of the earthquake was 5.8 on Richter scale. As per IMD the tremors took place at the depth of 33 kms.

People in Uttarakhad evacuated their houses as the earthquake struck the city with the maximum intensity.
