New Delhi: Donald Trump’s real name is Dawood Ibrahim Khan and he was born in Pakistan. This bizarre piece of news was aired by Pakistani TV channel, Neo News, in its prime time show.

People are reacting in disbelief and shock ever since Republican Nominee Donald Trump defeated Democrat Hillary Clinton in the US Presidential Polls. Amid all this, a report that claims Trump to be from Pakistan has taken crazy to a new level.

The woman who has presented the programme has maintained a confident tone throughout the bulletin and seems absolutely sure about the information she has disseminated. According to the show, Trump was born in Waziristan, Pakistan, and his real name was Dawood Ibrahim Khan. He received his initial education at a Madrasa in Waziristan. The channel further added that Trump’s parents (Ibrahim’s parents here) died in a road accident in 1954 and that young Dawood was adopted by the Trump family after a British Indian Army captain took him to London. To make things more awkward, the channel also found a picture of Trump’s childhood from social media.

This is what happens when you take social media too seriously. Interestingly, the channel clarifies that the source of information of their report is actually a few satirical comments on social media.

Trump was actually born on June 14, 1946, in Jamaica Queens, a neighbourhood in New York City. Yes, Trump’s parents are no more but they definitely didn’t die in a road accident and the US President is definitely not adopted.

It is strange that Pakistan chose to present such a baseless report on the US President elect who has been severely critical of the country in the past. But then again, Pakistan never fails to amuse the world.
