New Delhi: In a fresh attack on the currently ruling Samajwadi Party,  the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Supremo Mayawati on Monday 'advised Muslims not to "waste" their votes by voting for presently ruling Samajwadi Party.

"Do not waste your votes by giving them to Samajwadi Party. Give your votes to the Bahujan Samaj Party", advised Mayawati to Muslims in Farrukhabad rally in the poll-bound state of the Uttar Pradesh.

Further attacking the ruling government in the state she said, "Development work in UP is incomplete, and Akhilesh Yadav government has wasted money on advertisement".

In the same rally, Mayawati lashed  out at Congress as well and said, "Congress went out of power because of its wrong policies".

After the recent alliance between SP and Congress, the BSP is eyeing Dalit and Muslim votes, in an aspiration to win the forthcoming Assembly election in the state.

The 17th Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections, which are set to take place in 7 phases will be held between February 11 and March 8, 2017.

In 2012, the Samajwadi Party won a majority and formed government in the leadership of Akhilesh Yadav.
