New Delhi: While the prices of petrol and diesel have remained unchanged in many cities across the country, the price of diesel has shot up once again in Delhi. It has increased by 17 paise a litre on Saturday. According to reports diesel was priced at Rs 81.52 per litre on Saturday in the capital. This is higher than the previous level of Rs 81.35 a litre. There is no change in petrol prices, and it has remained at Rs 80.43 a litre since June 29 when it's price rose marginally by 5 paise over previous days price. Oil companies began daily revision of the two auto fuels from a June 7 after keeping the price unchanged for last 82 days during Covid-19 related lockdown. Since then petrol and diesel prices have increased by Rs 9.5-Rs 11.5 per litre respectively. Last week petrol and diesel prices remained unchanged for four days before diesel prices increasing on Sunday, Monday and again on Wednesday. Domestic petrol and diesel prices vary from state to state due to value-added tax (VAT). Oil companies review the rates on a daily basis, based on changes in international crude oil rates and the rupee-dollar foreign exchange rate, and implement any changes with effect from 6 am.
