If the friend is to be believed, then Dhoni is aiming to serve the country in a tough posting for territorial Army and will be soon approaching the Forces for the same.
"It could be something like a posting in Siachen for a few months. Dhoni wants to serve the country like the soldiers do," said Dhoni’s close friend.
"Very soon he wants to approach the Army and tell his wish. After that its their call," he said.
Eight years ago, Dhoni was given the title of Lieutenant Colonel on November 1, 2011 by the Indian Territorial Army.
“Mahi is taking time for this first and later will think about his long term future,” he added.
When asked have we already seen Dhoni playing the last match of his career, he said it is difficult to say how his mind functions.
A couple of days ago, BJP leader Sanjay Paswan had claimed that Dhoni is likely to step into politics after retiring from international cricket. He said that Dhoni can become a part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's team. Since the exit of Team India in 2019 World Cup, the news of Dhoni's retirement is holding fast.
Paswan had said, "Dhoni can join BJP and he has been talking about this for a long time." He said, "There is talk on this issue for a long time, though decision will be taken only after Dhoni's retirement."
He further said, "Dhoni is my acquaintance, he is a world famous player and he is trying to connect with the party." Before the Lok Sabha elections, BJP President Amit Shah during his 'Contact for Support' program met Dhoni.
