New Delhi: Jammu and Kashmir police on Tuesday, apprehended the accused Yasir Lohar involved in the murder case of DG Prison, Hemant Lohia. "In a major manhunt launched by J&K police throughout the night, the accused involved in the murder case of DG Prison, Hemant Lohia has been apprehended. Interrogation of the accused has started,"ANI quoted ADGP Mukesh Singh as saying.
The accused Yasir was hiding in the fields in Kanachak area. He threw his phone before he fled to Kanachak area.
Earlier, the police had recovered the murder weapon and also found a diary of the accused, which reflects his depressed mental state, ANI reported. Jammu and Kashmir's Director General (Prisons) Hemant K Lohia was found murdered at his residence in Jammu in mysterious circumstances on Monday night. According to preliminary investigations, police suspect his domestic help as the main culprit, reported news agency PTI.
