Denmark Foreign Affairs Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen on Tuesday said the extradition of Kim Davy, prime accused in the Purulia arms drop case, was a "work in progress", ANI reported. Rasmussen, who is in India and met Foreign Minister S Jaishankar, said the matter was not a "political topic".
"When I visited India back in 2019, in my previous capacity as PM, we talked about it. We had in-depth discussion at the political level and we agreed this is not a political topic," ANI quoted Rasmussen as saying.
"It's something which should be dealt with among the proper authorities and what I am informed about that is that this is a work in progress," he further said.

On December 17, 1995, a large consignment of illegal arms, including AK-47 rifles and ammunition, were dropped from an Antonov An-26 aircraft and was scattered in the Purulia district of West Bengal. According to investigators, Kim Davy is the main accused in the case.
India has been engaged with Denmark on the issue of extradition of Kim Davy for several years now. In 2021, India had sought quicker extradition of Kim Davy alias Niels Holck from Denmark.
Earlier in the day, Jaishankar held a meeting with Rasmussen and said the two leaders discussed the bilateral partnership, which he noted was growing from strength to strength.
Taking to Twitter, Jaishankar said, "Good to meet FM of Denmark @larsloekke today morning. Discussed our bilateral partnership that is growing from strength to strength. Also exchanged views on the state of the world. It calls for intensifying our cooperation."
The minister is part of the Denmark delegation led by the country's royal couple, who arrived on a state visit to India on February 26. Denmark's Crown Prince Frederik Andre Henrik Christian and Crown Princess Mary Elizabeth arrived in India on Sunday.
