NEW DELHI: BSP supremo Mayawati recently described the Centre's move to demonetise high-value currency notes as an "economic emergency". She also said Prime Minister Narendra Modi should stop the "emotional blackmailing" of the people who were facing hardships due to the decision.

While the party supremo has thoroughly criticized the Prime Minister, a BSP leader heaped praises on Narendra Modi in a recent party rally. He lauded the PM for the surgical strikes the Indian Armry conducted on terror launchpads across the LoC.  According to unconfirmed media reports, Mayawati was also present in the meet.

While speaking from the stage, he termed the Centre’s decision to demonetise Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes as "second surgical strike”.

Seeing him praising PM Modi, one of the party workers standing behind him attempted to snatch the mic out of his hands but the 'adamant' leader didn't give up until he finished his brief speech.

The video of his short speech has gone viral.
