Delhi Weather Update: Yellow Alert Issued For National Capital Today, NCR To Receive Moderate Rainfall
IMD has issued a yellow alert for Tuesday and an orange alert for Wednesday, warning of moderate to heavy rain or thundershowers.
Weather condition in Delhi was hot and humid on Monday. The day temperature however settled at 36.8 degrees Celsius, which is normal for this time of the year. The minimum also recorded 27.4 degrees Celsius, whihc is also average for the month. Humidity levels however oscillated between 62 per cent and 89 per cent, making conditions very uncomfortable for Delhiites.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the sultry weather condition will end as good amount of rain is expected in the national capital and its adjoining areas like Noida and Gurugram today. While there is forecast of heavy rain on Wednesday, July 6.
IMD has issued a yellow alert for Tuesday and an orange alert for Wednesday, warning of moderate to heavy rain or thundershowers.
The IMD uses four colour codes for weather warnings — green (no action needed), yellow (watch and stay updated), orange (be prepared) and red (take action).
The weatherman has forecast generally cloudy sky for Tuesday with the possibility of light to moderate rain or thundershowers. The maximum and minimum temperature are expected to hover around 36 degrees Celsius and 26 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall in 15 districts of Madhya Pradesh has also been issued by the IMD. This may help the state to cover up the monsoon deficit.
“Monsoon covered all of MP on July 1. The state, so far, has received 11 per cent less rainfall than the normal average. Between June 1 and July 4, it has received 147.1 millimetre rainfall against the normal average of 164.7 mm," said Singh, scientific assistant at IMD’s Bhopal centre.
