Delhi Riots: In an investigation by a special cell of the Delhi Police, it was revealed that in order to implicate Ansar Khan in connection with the Delhi riots, his neighbour Muzammil Alvi placed 5 pipe bombs on the roof of his house in Ghaziabad.

Based on a complaint by Delhi Police, Ghaziabad police have registered a case and arrested accused Muzammil Alvi when the situation came to light. According to the Special Cell of Delhi Police, it was Muzammil Alvi who had placed 5 pipe bombs on the roof of his neighbour Ansar Khan.

What was the case all about?

During an investigation into the riots which broke out in the Northeast region of the national capital of Delhi in July last year, Delhi Police received information from an informer that Ansar Khan, who lives in Kardampura in the North East District, was involved in the violence and had prepared and supplied pipe bombs to rioters.

The informer also told Delhi Police that Ansar Khan is currently living in Ghaziabad and is still making pipe bombs, after which he was taken into custody by the Special Cell of Delhi Police. His house in Ghaziabad was also raided and 5 pipe bombs were also found on the roof of his house.

"I Am Innocent", Says Ansar Khan

When Ansar Khan was taken into custody and questioned by the police, he refused to have any information about these bombs. During the investigation, the police were unable to get any evidence of Ansar Khan's involvement in the Delhi riots, after which he was released. Delhi Police investigated the case and once again questioned people around Ansar Khan's Ghaziabad house, where they found out that Ansar Khan was having a fight with his neighbour Muzammil Alvi.

When the police questioned Muzammil on suspicion, he broke down and told the police that it was him who had placed the bombs on Ansar Khan's roof to implicate Ansar Khan on charges of Delhi riots. Delhi Police lodged a complaint at Loni police station in Ghaziabad on Sunday after the case was exposed, after which Ghaziabad police registered a case and arrested Muzammil Alvi.
