According to the reports, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) dedicated to investigate the Delhi riots submitted the chargesheet in Karkardooma Court naming Hussain, his brother, Shah Alam and 14 others for instigating violent clashes in Chand Bagh.
At least 20 persons, including a police head constable, died while around 200 people sustained serious injuries in the communal violence that raged for three days in the northeast Delhi. Properties worth crores of rupees have been damaged in the arson.
Post riots, a video went on social media showing Tahir standing on the terrace and his aides throwing petrol bombs and acid bombs. However, Tahir denied charges claiming that he went on the terrace only to see the widespread clashes and rather seeking help for himself.
In the wake the allegations on him, Tahir Hussain has released a video in which he said that he has no involvement in the incident. In the video, Hussain explained that a mob broke into his house and climbed to the roof to carry out attacks.
. Besides, allegedly indulging in communal clashes, Hussain was also arrested in connection with Intelligence Bureau (IB) officer Ankit Sharma murder case.
Sharma’s father has alleged that Hussain, whose office is located near Chand Bagh Pulia, gathered men who were pelting stones and petrol bombs during the violence which led to tension and fear among local residents.
