As the national capital witnessed violence after the farmers and Delhi Police personnel clashed during the Tractor Rally with a section of the protestors storming Red Fort, around 300 artists, including children, were rescued after they got stranded near the Mughal era monument. Those rescued by the police were part of the majestic Republic Day parade.
“There were around 300 artists, including children, at the Red Fort. As the situation developed, we provided them with food and shifted them to a safe place, Daryaganj Mess,” ANI quoted Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Anto Alphonse as saying.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah later in the day reviewed the situation arising out of the farmers' agitation in the national capital. The meeting was attended by Union Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Delhi Police Commissioner SN Srivastava and other senior Officers.

The farmers’ movement turned violent after the protestors deviated from the designated route for the proposed Tractor Rally. They made their way to the Red Fort after breaching all the barricades on the way.

The protestors swarmed the Red Fort and waved flags from the ramparts of the fort. They hoisted farmers' union flags and waved their swords from the dome. The police personnel later resorted to baton-charge while trying to remove the protestors from the monument. The protestors also pelted stones at the police personnel.
