Delhi Police Special Cell has registered a case against unknown people on the basis of the Delhi Commission for Women's Chairperson Swati Maliwal's complaint. Maliwal filed a complaint regarding indecent comments being targetted at Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma's daughter Vamika Kohli as well as Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Sakshi Singh's daughter Ziva Singh Dhoni. The Special cell has registered an FIR under Information Technology Act, 2000 and has started an investigation into the same.

Delhi Police has sent out a notice to Twitter asking for the details of those accounts that made those indecent comments.

The DCW chairperson shared a copy of the FIR and said the culprits will be arrested very soon. She wrote on Twitter, "After my notice, the Delhi Police has registered an FIR in the case of indecent comments made on the daughters of Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni. Very soon all the culprits will be arrested and behind bars."

Last week, Swati Maliwal took notice of the vulgar remarks being made on social media regarding the daughter of cricketers like Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Virat Kohli. She also posted screenshots of the tweet and commanded an investigation against the offenders. Maliwal also emphasised that people may or may not like a player but saying 'nasty things' about their daughters is totally unjustified.

In Hindi she tweeted: "Some accounts are making lewd comments by posting pictures of daughters of two big players of the country Virat Kohli and Dhoni on Twitter. Such nasty things about a 2-year-old and 7-year-old girl? If you don't like a player, will you abuse his daughter? Issuing notice to police to register FIR."
