Members of the Hindu Sikh Global Forum staged a protest at the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi on Sunday, condemning the violence near a Hindu temple in Brampton, Canada, that occurred on 4 November. The protesters aimed to deliver a memorandum at the High Commission in Chanakyapuri but were stopped by police at Teen Murti Marg.
"We are here to show that Sikhs have not attacked Hindus; we are bonded through blood relations," said Jitender Singh Shunty, President of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Sewa Dal, while speaking to news agency PTI. "For Hindus, Guru Tegh Bahadur and Guru Gobind Singh made sacrifices for the Hindu religion. How can they fight with each other? We are here at the Canadian Embassy to give a memorandum."
Shunty told ANI, "An entire generation had been destroyed during militancy. They were either killed or they migrated to other countries. Then they introduced drugs to ruin the lives of our young generation. When they saw Punjab thriving, they started with religious conversions. And now, this new thing of attacking temples has started. This is wrong and unfortunate... We are here to tell you that we are all together."
"A true Sikh can never be a Khalistani. If they want a separate nation, they should keep it limited to themselves. We want our tricolour and our country to be respected at all times. India's Sikhs stand with India and do not support Khalistan," he remarked.

Delhi: Security Heightened Around Canadian High Commission Due To Protest
Security was heightened around the Canadian High Commission, with police raising barricades to prevent any law and order breach. "We have deployed additional forces and barricades outside the High Commission of Canada following a protest march call. No one will be allowed to breach law and order," a senior police officer confirmed, as per PTI.
Despite the security measures, some demonstrators attempted to climb the barricades. The protest comes amid a series of violent incidents targeting Hindu temples in Canada, including the recent attack in Brampton.
