Delhi-NCR Weather and Pollution Report Today


The New Year began with a cold wave and a layer of fog for Delhi-NCR and according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the conditions will prevail till January 4. The Met department has predicted that Delhi-NCR may experience rain on January 5, 6, and 7 while the temperature will continue to dip.


Meanwhile, Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 3 degrees Celsius below the normal of 4.2 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature recorded was also one degree Celsius below the normal of 20.2 degrees Celsius on Sunday.


Minimum Temperature In Delhi To Remain 4 Degrees Celsius


According to the IMD, the maximum temperature today is likely to be 21 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature today is likely to be 4 degrees Celsius. There will be moderate fog and less sunlight throughout the day. 


The maximum temperature is expected to be 21.5 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature to be 12.8 degrees Celsius in Noida today. Meanwhile, the sky would remain cloudy. 


While in Gurugram, the maximum temperature is likely to be 21 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature to be 5 degrees Celsius. The weather will be clear today. 


In the coming days, the temperature may rise in Delhi-NCR according to IMD.


AQI In Delhi At Critical Level


Delhi’s air quality has been a matter of concern for the past two months. Today as well, the air quality has been recorded at a critical level. According to the System of Air Quality And Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) is 402 today which is the ‘severe’ category.


The AQI in Noida is 322 whereas the same in Gurugram is 307.


The biggest cause of concern in Delhi at the moment is air pollution, which for the last 2 months has been recorded at either very poor or sometimes at very serious levels. Even today, air pollution in Delhi has been recorded at a critical level.
