New Delhi: Coronavirus cases in Delhi continue to rise with the capital city recording 1,490 fresh infections, up nearly nine per cent from yesterday's tally (1,367) and two fatalities on Thursday. Meanwhile, the city also saw 1,070 recoveries in the last 24 hours. 


With this, the positivity rate in the capital now stands at 4.62 per cent. 


Currently, 124 Covid-19 positive patients are hospitalised in Delhi, while number of Covid patients being treated in home isolation is at 3,636, health department data showed.


It was the seventh consecutive day that the capital recorded over 1,000 new cases in a day. The total number of recoveries has reached 18,48,526.


Overall Covid-19 tally in the national capital rose to 18,79,948 and the death toll was 26,172, the health bulletin stated.


A total of 32,248 new tests, including 21,260 RT-PCR and 10,988 Rapid Antigen were conducted in the city in last 24 hours, taking the total to 3,77,94,346.


38,121 Covid vaccines were administered in Delhi in last 24 hours - 5,119 first doses, 18,986 second doses and 14,016 precaution doses. The total number of cumulative beneficiaries vaccinated so far stands at 3,33,40,952 according to the health bulletin.


Meanwhile, Maharashtra recorded 165 fresh coronavirus cases on Thursday, a bulk of them in Mumbai, while two more patients succumbed to the infection in the state. With this, Maharashtra's Covid-19 tally rose to 78,77,429, while the death toll increased to 1,47,840.


Mumbai recorded 90 Coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, accounting for more than half of the daily tally, the department said in a bulletin. Of the new fatalities, one each was recorded in Sindhudurg and Buldhana. 


The health department also highlighted that districts such as Ratnagiri, Sidhudurg, Satara, Sangli, Jalna, Latur, Akola, Yavatmal, Wardha, Bhandara, Chandrapur have zero active cases.
