Ankush, the seventh accused in the Kanjhawala death case, on Friday surrenders to the police, news agency ANI reported.






Earlier, a sixth suspect was apprehended in the horrible event in Delhi's Khanjawala on New Year's Eve, in which a lady died after being dragged for many kilometres by a car that hit her scooter.


The perpetrator, named as Ashutosh, has been apprehended, and according to police, the victim was pulled for more than 12 kilometres on Sunday by Ashutosh's automobile. Today, Delhi's Rohini court has granted a three day police custody of Ashutosh.






"In the Sultanpuri case, the sixth accused Ashutosh has been arrested who had given false information to the police. Further investigation is on," the Special Commissioner of Police (Law & Order) Delhi Police Sagar Preet Hooda said today.










Deepak Khanna, Amit Khanna, Krishan, Mithun, and Manoj Mittal were nabbed previously in the case. The five were driving the automobile that Ashutosh had loaned them. On Thursday night, all of the suspects were transferred to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital for medical examinations.


According to police, they were kidnapped throughout the night as a security measure. The other two suspects are Ashutosh and Ankush Khanna, according to Special Commissioner of Police (Law & Order) Delhi Police Sagar Preet Hooda. Both are acquaintances of the five guys detained and attempted to defend the accused.


According to the police commissioner, the pair apparently attempted to tamper with evidence in order to assist the accused. The matter is being investigated by 18 Delhi Police units. During the interrogation, it was discovered that Amit, not Deepak, was driving the automobile.


"We are trying to file the charge sheet as early as possible. During the post-mortem, no evidence of sexual assault was found," the Special CP said. 


According to the police, eyewitness Nidhi's statement has been recorded, and no relation has been identified between the eyewitness and the accused.


Anjali, a 20-year-old lady, was murdered in the early hours of the New Year when her scooter was hit by a car and she was carried for nearly 12 kilometres under the vehicle on the city's highways.
