Cold wave and fog continues to take north India by a strong grip as visibility remained affected in most parts of the region including the national capital. In a press release dated January 14, the India Meteorological Department said "dense to very dense fog" conditions are likely to prevail over north India during next 4-5 days.
In view of the dense fog conditions, Delhi airport issued an advisory requesting passengers to contact airlines before travelling.
Rail operations also took a hit as 18 trains to Delhi from various parts of the country were running late due to dense fog conditions.
As per the weather department, cold day to severe cold day conditions are likely to prevail over plains of Northwest India during next three days and decrease thereafter.
On Sunday, a total of 10 flights were diverted and nearly 100 were delayed while some were cancelled at the Delhi airport due to visibility due to dense fog, reported PTI.
A total of 10 flights, including 2 international flights, were diverted to Jaipur between 4.30 am and 12 noon, said an airport official. Nearly 100 flights, including overseas services, were delayed, and some of the flights cancelled due to the bad weather, the official added.

Amid the dense fog conditions, Delhi airport issued an advisory on Mondya requesting the passengers to to contact the airlines before travelling.
"Due to dense fog, flight operations at Delhi Airport may be affected. Passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information," said the airport authority in a post on 'X'.
