NEW DELHI: A massive fire engulfed a factory in Delhi’s Naraina area in the early hours of Thursday. According to the fire department, they received a call at around 7:30 am about the incident following which 23 fire tenders were rushed to the spot.


Dy. Chief Fire Officer Rajesh Panwar said that a medium category fire broke out at C 113, Naraina Industrial Area Phase I, New Delhi in an Archies perfume factory. The blaze was spotted at early in the morning in which the corporate office was engulfed. Rescue and search operation is underway and there was no report of any casualty.

Earlier on Wednesday, a similar fire incident took place where a major fire broke out at a slum in Delhi’s Paschim Puri area which left over 250 shanties gutted.

Prima facie, the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. It is said that the volatile nature of some pure perfume ingredients could have lead to the spread of fire.
