New Delhi: As the much crucial Delhi Assembly Elections 2020 has concluded and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has once again bagged a massive mandate by winning as many as 62 out of 70 Assembly seats in the national capital, eight women candidates have emerged victorious and all from the Arvind Kejriwal-led party. The final results were announced by the Election Commission (EC) on Tuesday night.


AAP had fielded nine women candidates in the Delhi Assembly election 2020 and eight out of them has emerged as winners. The names of female candidates who won 2020 Delhi elections are as mentioned below:

Atishi Marlena (Kalkaji constituency)

After facing a defeat in Lok Sabha elections 2019, Atishi has won the Assembly seat of Kalkaji constituency by 11,393 votes defeating Congress's Shivani Chopra and Bharatiya Janata Party's Dharambir Singh. The runner up at Kalkaji constituency is Dharambir Singh.

Rakhi Birla (Mangol Puri constituency)

AAP's Rakhi Birla defeated BJP's Karam Singh Karma by a margin of 30,116 votes in Mangol Puri Assembly constituency.

Bhavna Gaur (Palam Assembly constituency)

In Palam Assembly constituency, Bhavna Gaur of the AAP won over Vijay Pandit of the BJP by 32,765 votes.

Parmila Tokas (RK Puram constituency)

AAP's sitting MLA Pramila Tokas retained her RK Puram assembly seat. She defeated Anil Kumar Sharma of the BJP by over 10,000 votes.

A Dhanwati Chandela (Rajouri Garden constituency)

A Dhanwati Chandela A, who had contested from Rajouri Garden on an AAP ticket, has bagged the seat by 22,972 defeating Ramesh Khanna of the BJP.

Bandana Kumari (Shalimar Bagh constituency)

In Shalimar Bagh seat, BJP's Rekha Gupta lost to AAP's Bandana Kumari by a margin of over 3,000 votes.

Preeti Tomar (Tri Nagar constituency)

AAP's Preeti Tomar won the Tri Nagar seat by defeating Tilak Ram Gupta of the BJP by 10,710 votes.

Raj Kumari Dhillon (Hari Nagar constituency)

AAP's Raj Kumari Dhillon, who contested from Hari Nagar, defeated popular BJP leader Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga by over 20,000 votes.

Sarita Singh is only women candidate from AAP who has lost the election this time. She was contesting from Rohtas Nagar seat against Jitender Mahajan of the BJP. In total, AAP, BJP, and Congress had given tickets to 24 women candidates in the 2020 Delhi Assembly Elections.

In the much crucial Assembly Polls, AAP has returned to power for the third time with winning as many as 62 seats. The BJP has won eight Assembly constituencies.
